Wilfred Owen:
A Remembrance Tale
For Remembrance Sunday 2007 BBC1 broadcast this excellent documentary on the life of Wilfred Owen; arguably Britain's greatest war poet.
Presented by Jeremy Paxman, and directed by Louise Hooper, the programme followed Owen's life via historical reconstructions and interviews with various experts on aspects of his life.
Historical Advice:
Taff was able to give a great deal of help and military historical advice to director Louise Hooper both with the script and the reconstructions; most of which were shot at our location in Suffolk.
Locations:
Our site in Suffolk was used for much of the reconstruction and we created a German dugout (above) for Owen's poem, 'The Sentry' which, once filled with Great War soldiers and properly lit, was extremely effective.
Taff was interviewed about trench life in the Great War by Jeremy in our extensive reconstructed Trench System.
Costume and Props:
Khaki Devil provided the uniform, equipment, weaponry for the reconstructions. We also supplied most of the military props.
Specialist Extras:
We provided the cast for the reconstructions; all the men featured were members of The Khaki Chums and, as usual, a very high standard was achieved.
