Weaponry
Khaki Devil can provide quite a considerable number of deactivated and replica weapons from our own arsenal: Bren Guns to Vickers Guns, from Lee Enfields to Mausers and Submachine Guns to Pistols (below). We equipped a whole platoon of men with the correct rifles for both the Great War series, 'The Trench' and the 'Lad's Army'/ 'Bad Lad's Army' programmes set in the 1950s. In fact we can equip soldiers from The Boer War to the end of National Service.
We have a number of gas-operated weapons such as our 1903 Maxim Machine Gun (above right); the kind used by the BEF in France in 1914 before being replaced by the Vickers Gun. Being gas-operated means that it can replicate a live-firing weapon as it has all the noise and muzzle-flash of the real thing but with no actual bullets so it needs no armourer to be responsible for it - and there is a huge saving on ammunition!
We also undertake replica work for Film, Television, Theatre, Museums, etc. Recently we built exact, non-firing, replica Vickers and Lewis Machine Guns for Museum displays and a Northover Projector - as used by the Home Guard for firing phosphorus grenades (above left).
We can also provide armourers for a whole variety of other blank-firing weapons if your project requires them.
Pyrotechnics can be provided for most budgets too.
