Journey's End

To date, our most requested package. This is undoubtedly due to the popular and critical acclaim director David Grindley's production received in Britain; both in London and during the national tour, and later on Broadway. 2008 is the 80th anniversary of the first performance of R.C.Sherriff's snapshot of his Great War experiences as an officer in the East Surrey Regiment. Of course, 2008 also marks the 90th anniversary of the setting the play; March, 1918. Your production of Journey's End this year would be a fitting tribute to the men who fought in 1918; the year which produced the heaviest British casualties of the entire war and ended with the unexpected - and often forgotten - victory.

As with most of the services we offer for Amateur Dramatics Societies, Community Theatre Companies and Schools, we can provide anything from just rifles to a full package including the British uniforms; with such details as correct battle patches and Stanhope's Military Cross ribbon. We also have the German soldier's uniform including his Paybook, items of set dressing and personal props. The paper ephemera on offer for this production includes a copy of the 1894 edition of 'Alice in Wonderland', period newspapers, and trench maps.

This package is not set in stone and every production has a different vision and requests different props. However, we believe that our packages are extremely cost effective and, besides, nowhere else can provide an all-in deal of uniforms, equipment, weapons, props, set dressing and historical advice - let alone at such competitive rates.

Beford's Swan Theatre Company were delighted with the help we gave them: Follow this link to read their 'behind the scenes' blog. In fact they were so pleased with our help that they returned a few months later for assistance with My Boy Jack!
