Falklands 25
For the 25th Anniversary of the British Victory at the end of the Falklands War in 1982, BBC1 covered the National Tribute live from Horseguards Parade in London and, simultaneously, from San Carlos on the Falkland Islands.
Uniforms and Equipment:
During the three hour programme there were many short films and interviews. One of these was between Dan Snow and Pete Robinson, the Royal Marine Commando whose photograph, flying a Union Flag from his radio aerial, became one of the iconic images of the War.
The interview took place on East Falkland itself. As part of the interview Dan Snow put on a fully-loaded set of 1958 Pattern Webbing as was worn by British soldiers during the campaign and then stomped several miles across the island wearing it.
Khaki Devil were proud to be able to supply the equipment for this special tribute.
