The Christmas Truce
A one hour Christmas special of the popular 'Days that shook the World' series for BBC2 featuring the story of the Truce at Christmas 1914 between British and German troops.
Location:
A third of the programme was filmed in our Trench system in Suffolk which gave a very realistic, wet and muddy 1914 feel to the programme. The Trench looked exactly as an original 1914 trench would have in the first winter of the war and several sections were made to look flooded or damaged for specific scenes.
The large barn at our location was also utilised. A Christmas dinner with German Officers entertaining a British Officer was faithfully recreated inside the barn.
Uniforms and Equipment:
Khaki Devil provided many uniforms and equipment for British and German Officers and soldiers for the programme.
Specialist Extras:
